Dear Denton: Are you as good as Southlake?

Tell the city to stop with the bull.

Southlake prohibited compression facilities within the city. Also “no refining process or any process for the extraction of hydrocarbon products shall be performed at a drill site or operation site except that a horizontal separator may be maintained for the separation of liquids from oil & gas.”

After the word “except’, the flood gates are opened. WAJ. This is patterened after those non-restrictive RRC rules!

Harder to put the genie back in the bottle once she/he’s out. Of course, there are critical moments in the life of every home rule city with all of this. Deciding to put in place the strictest ordinances is surely a necessary first step. Our state and federal laws governing pipelines and all the assorted parts and pieces need a major reboot. This issue makes it very difficult to navigate. Thinking of Dallas and hoping for the best outcome.
