GE and Pickens ramming dirty energy down our throats

November 18, 2012 By TXsharon

…or maybe I should say up our backsides.

Despite the growing opposition and mounting evidence that shale oil and gas causes great harm and supplies are dropping rapidly, those who stand to profit continue to move forward with creating a demand.

UPDATE: Even New York City’s largest public employee union has taken a position to ban fracking.

I watched a great documentary from Ken Burns tonight about the Dust Bowl on PBS. A couple of statements which really hit home for me were “privileges of the past” (mineral owners) and “first man-made environmental catasthrophe”. The boom and bust of wheat and natural gas are eerie familiar. Thousands of young children died of dust pneumonia and it seems for so called energy independence and job creation we are willing once again willing to sacrifice our future.

Wonder how involved Pickens was in this grant? Denton has received $200,000 of the grant money.
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality today announced that up to $4.5 million in grants is being made available to eligible individuals, businesses, and governmental entities to support the development of a network of natural gas vehicle fueling stations to serve as a foundation for a self-sustaining market for natural gas vehicles in Texas.
So, let me get this straight. Texas is paying to have NG fueling stations built to use the natural gas Mr. Pickens sells. GENUIS!

Our gubment at work–wasting our tax money to benefit the rich! This BS about NG powered vehicles reminds me of the days of ole–when there were going to propane powered vehicles. That eventually went over like a fart in a church.
