in Tar Sands

UPDATE: You can see video of sweet landowner Eleanor Fairchild and Daryl Hannah defending Eleanor’s farm at Tar Sands Blockade.

Who knew a Texan could be arrested for trespassing while standing on their own property.

Eleanor Fairchild, a 78-year-old landowner was arrested with Daryl Hannah for standing in front of a bulldozer on Fairchild’s land.

“It is unfortunate Ms. Hannah and other out-of-state activists have chosen to break the law by illegally trespassing on private property,” David Dodson, a spokesman for TransCanada,

Not kidding. Here is the link.

PS: We have a whistleblower. It’s not pretty.

“My motivation is to prevent unnecessary death and environmental damage,” adds the engineer who has also been a welder and millwright.

“The controls for the industry are there but they are not being implemented or enforced. We have the technology to do things right, but we don’t have the willpower.”

In Texas, you only own your land until some other SOB, who has more money than you, claims it—–then you loose! Also, don’t invest much money in a primary homestead in Tx, you may loose it, taxes are higher than a giant’s behind, and it may wind up in a polluted area.
