A fracking 2.7M earthquake in the Barnett Shale

December 7, 2011 By TXsharon

Hello Fracking Insurgents!

The Barnett Shale just had a fracking earthquake in Johnson County. Did you feel it?

UPDATE: Here’s a map. Notice all the gas wells.

Please, everbody, go out and take pictures of your foundation and your walls. You might need that documentation in the event your foundation ends up with big cracks like one neighborhood in Mansfield.

Texans cannot get earthquake insurance so you’re on you’re own.

See the FAQs for more information on earthquakes caused by fracking and drilling activity.

It’s more likely all of those homes in the area, or it could have been road work on that nearby road. No, no, it’s all those darn trees. There must be thousands of them, and they have roots which can go really deep, like, 10’s of feet. It’s not gas well deep, but you should see what one of those pesky nuisance trees did to my foundation. Why not the earth as well? PROVE to me it’s not the trees, I dare you. Producing oxygen and crap, sheesh. They were probably trying to STOP the earthquakes, by creating those “Tree Removal Zones”. Those square barren areas of soil that you see. Maybe if they create some more of those, we can stop all of these tremors. If it works, we’ll let California know. They could certainly learn much from this “Tree Removal Zone” technology.

No, no, no, Eric. You’ve got it all wrong. It’s the hippie organic farmers with their earthworm beds. Those worms are tunneling down and causing the quakes. It’s all that organic $hit that makes worms grow so big and healthy. Bring back DDT!

Sharon, You of all people should know that those worms use several layers of fault-proof crack-free concrete casings after they bore their holes. There is NO WAY that could be causing the problem. Furthermore, there is no pathway for anything in the ground to penetrate or leak outside of where it was (except for that hole that was just bore out). They are connected with fault-free couplings that never fail (unlike the ones used in homes that have been exploding over the last few decades). No, I’m sticking with the TRZ’s and until you can prove me wrong, I am obviously right. I would also like to state that I am stongly opposed to the import of foreign worms from worm hating countries which don’t like us very much. [Wave flag]. I would much rather export those worms, because farmers really don’t do that much for us and I want to be food independent.

So your position, as I understand it, is that hippie worms have not caused or contributed to the fracking earthquakes.

It’s not the worms, but I’ve got my eye on those little buggers. I’ve got some theories on the deteriorating roads in the same are as the earthquakes. They are not off the hook yet.

The Baby Boomers and Hippies are the real enemies. That’s what I learned at the Gashole PR Conference. Oh, and the free range chickens. Environmental terrorists is what they are.

Eric you are right. That pretty much sounds like what we hear after something like this. Eventually they won’t be able to deny it but by then it may be too late. You forgot that if we want to prove it, they will fight us tooth and nail and drain our bank accounts.

Above comments are so correct. And the quakes would be MUCH worse if it was not for all those heavy drilling pads, and heavy equipment out there holding down the earth movements and dampening the quakes. Also, think how much worse the quakes would be if the Gas Mafia did not inject all that fracking fluid down there to help hold down the oscillations!

They just had a 3.4 north of Snyder TX:

    And it’s 2.5 miles deep.
