Is the Big Gas Mafia getting desperate?

I just read this on Facebook:

JUST RECEIVED A ROBOCALL CONCERNING THE XL PIPELINE, via *Consumer Energy Alliance* (founded by Newt Gingrich, as I understand) SOLICITING MY SUPPORT FOR TRANS-CANADA’S HELLTUBE ACROSS THE US ~~

It seems pretty desperate to me.
