Bomb found on natural gas pipeline in Oklahoma
August 11, 2011
By Phaedra Friend Troy

The FBI is investigating a bomb found on a natural gas pipeline in Central Oklahoma.

The “potential explosive device” was found on a natural gas pipeline just outside of Okemah, Oklahoma, by the Okfuskee Country Sheriff’s Office.

The local law enforcement contacted the FBI about the improvised explosive device (IED) attached to the pipeline about 5 miles south of Okemah. The explosive is a 1-foot-by-1-foot device with a timing mechanism attached.

The pipeline has been described as 80 inches in diameter, but the operator of the natural gas pipeline has not yet been identified.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol Bomb Technicians and Special Agent Bomb Technicians arrived on site, and the device was removed from the gas pipeline. The potential IED has been moved to a remote area for further examination.

According to the FBI, the device has been “rendered safe,” and the pipeline has been thoroughly inspected for more devices. None have been found.

PennEnergy.com has contacted the local FBI division, and Special Agent Clay Simmonds confirmed the pipeline bomb and said that the FBI is currently investigating the incident. More information should be available soon, and PennEnergy will keep you updated.

Following up reporting is sketchy.

Texas is literally covered in natural gas pipelines.

This seems fake to me ? I believe the industry plans to start blaming people for all the problems with its cut comers and rickety equipment
