Argyle Oil and Gas Drilling and Production Regulations

July 24, 2011 By TXsharon

Has anyone seen the proposed amendments?

J. NEW BUSINESS:
1. Hold a public hearing and consider a an ordinance approving amendments to Article
VII., Oil and Gas Drilling and Production Regulations, of Chapter 14 of the Town of
Argyle Code of Ordinances, Town Development Standards. Project # ORD-11-003.

We heard they were coming but no one I know has seen them. It’s hard to comment on something you’ve never seen.

UPDATE:

The ABCAlliance was able to get their hands on a copy. One thing the new mayor of Argyle needs to attend to is openness in their government. Any at all would be nice.

How did they come up with the amendments? Did they have a task force or advisory board?

Is there drilling near you? Sometimes gas is in water wells naturally but if it could be from drilling or fracking there might be additional chemicals that are dangerous.

You need to contact the Texas Railroad Commission.
24 Hour Accident Reporting Emergency Number (512) 463-6788, Complaint Hotline 877-228-5740 (option 5).
Most of the Barnett Shale falls under District 9
Wichita Falls – District 9 (map)
      (940) 723-2153
      5800 Kell Blvd, 7631
But they are an industry lapdog and have not been helpful to landowners. Still, you have to call them.

EPA “Eyes on Drilling” Tip Line 877-919-4372 or email eyesondrilling@epa.gov (Yes, this is the number to Region 3 but this is the number you call to report dumping and other suspicious hauling or disposal activity. They will forward your complaint to Region 6.)

You need to get independent testing done ASAP! See http://www.shaletest.org/ for testing options.
In the DFW area there is Tallum Lab and Armstrong.

Do not drink or use your water for anything until you find out what is in it.
