Chesapeake Energy kills trees, breaks promises

July 20, 2011 By TXsharon

Does anyone remember the Trinity Trees? It’s been quite a while and many broken promises ago, when Chesapeake decided to cut down an old growth forest in Fort Worth to drill Barnett Shale gas wells. They promised to plant new trees and restore the area.

You tell me. How did they do on that?

They used tens of millions of gallons of water to frack the wells where the Trinity Trees used to be but they forgot to water the new trees they planted. You can find out more and see more pictures of the dead trees on FWCanDO.

They also forgot they promised not to flare on the Trinity Trail. Aw well, that list would be way to long for this blog.
