Aruba Petroleum accused of contaminating groundwater

July 6, 2011 By TXsharon

This is not exactly a new flash to those of us who live in the Barnett Shale Gas Patch. What is a surprise is that our Attorney General Greg Abbott is doing anything about it. But, it’s not a surprise, really. Abbott is an opportunist, that’s all. He will make a big show and take action against Aruba and say: See there. I took care of it. Problem solved. That’s the problem with making this environmental crisis about only a few “bad actors.” Please show me a good actor. Just one.

…tick, tock…tick, tock…I’m still waiting. …one good actor. …just one. Anybody???

Oh, here’s the article LINK.

I don't know everything about the Texas Attorney General–but, what I do know is that the AG represents and protects public officials in Texas, including politicians, the TCEQ, the RRC and others. The AG does not do anything that I know of for the benefit of the general public! If you are talking to the AG, you are talking to the "enemy".

That's an expensive subscription to get the full story! The AG may be doing this to help out Rick Perry. You know, just in case he decides to run for POTUS they wouldn't want to see Tim on the campaign trail, too, asking questions and raising He**.

The reporter for this story said that the AG was working on a 'settlement' with Aruba. The size of that check will be telling. Aruba was in violation for more than 575 days-by their own admission. According to the lawsuit documents, the fines range from $50.00 a day to $25,000 a day for every day of the site being in violation. Can't wait to see how much the settlement is.

    Don't expect much from Abbott.
