Here is a glimpse of Representative Dennis Bonnen who authored the amendment to SB 875 that would violate our property rights by stripping away our right to defend our property.
He has not ONE but TWO ethics violations for misuse of his campaign funds.
He has received a lot of money from the oil and gas industry including the Tea Party funders Koch Oil.
We think you need to know what our elected officials are capable of when they are doing the bidding of the Big Gas Mafia. Mayor Tillman lays out the way Bonnen “pulled a fast one” and was able to get his dirty amendment in SB 875.
From Tillman’s letter to Bonnen:
This trickery is not what you were elected to do nor were you elected to force your will on others.
The Denton Record Chronicle quotes attorney Kirk Claunch on his opinion of the amendment:
“I can’t think of any piece of legislation that’s more un-American than one that deprives a private property owner of the right to defend themselves against abuses from a big oil company or anybody else,” Claunch said. “This is law that essentially says we are going to let the oil and gas industry do whatever it needs and to run over anybody that gets in its way without any consequence.”
If you keep electing people like Bonnen, then you should at least pay attention to the ways these people misuse their office and stop pretending that you are the party of personal property rights.

This is the year where our lawmakers legalize all of the unethical behavior this industry participates in. Nothing new except putting a legislative seal of approval on this disgusting industry. You get what you pay for.
