Breaking news about Range Resources Parker County water contamination case

March 8, 2011 By TXsharon

UPDATE: For the best reporting to date on this case see: Better reporting on Range Resources water contamination case in Parker County/a>, it is a long but essential read if you are interested in this case.

Not really. It’s not breaking news that the Texas Railroad Commission absolved Range Resources. They did that a long time ago which is why the EPA stepped in. Heck, the TRC absolves all the drillers for everything.

But, if the Star-Telegram wants to pretend it’s a big deal, let’s play along.

About Sharon Wilson

Sharon Wilson is considered a leading citizen expert on the impacts of shale oil and gas extraction. She is the go-to person whether it’s top EPA officials from D.C., national and international news networks, or residents facing the shock of eminent domain and the devastating environmental effects of natural gas development in their backyards.

The RRC said the gas got in there from a formation. Wait I am so confused, I thought the Gas Industry and everybody who is getting paid from the Gas Industry has been telling us that; "There is no way for gas and/or frac fluid to seep into the aquifer"

I'm getting sick and tired of all the lies. Smart people know the truth, they read the science and then apply it.

"I think, therefore I am overqualified."

The ST is so transparent. The EPA did not participate in the so called RRC "hearing", hence they could have no finding other than in favor of Range.

And I love how they boast that the EPA "backtracked" simply because one employee uttered the word "may" when talking about groundwater contamination.

I wish I could apply that same standard to the drillers as one of their attorneys said, during a public hearing in Mansfield on 2/28/11 that land near a drilling site had no better use than to be another drilling site. He then backtracked on that position, but based on how Range has latched onto the word "may" in the EPA official's deposition, seems like fair game.

I know I can't post "hateful" comments here, so let's just say I want to see the EPA do unmentionable things to Range over this case.
