A gas well just north of Franklin exploded 4:30am wednesday morning. Gas was initially spraying into the air, but at this time is longer doing so.
Officials have evacuated the immediate area as a precaution.
The superintendent, Bret Lowery for Franklin ISD has delayed the start of classes until 10am.

Note that the TCEQ does not prevent, prohibit, nor limit the emissions of methane (CH4) to the air ain any quantities what so ever!!!! It specifically omits methane from it's list of materials that can be emitted to the air!! Nor does it require the reporting of methane emissions!
