Fracking News

My inbox is overwhelming me

November 4, 2010 By TXsharon

I don’t know what’s happened this week but my inbox is flooded with email and my txt messages and phone calls are out of control. I’m trying to catch up but it might take me a while.

Please remember that I only work for Texas OGAP part-time because we don’t yet have the budget for full-time. Help me help you.

About Sharon Wilson

Sharon Wilson is considered a leading citizen expert on the impacts of shale oil and gas extraction. She is the go-to person whether it’s top EPA officials from D.C., national and international news networks, or residents facing the shock of eminent domain and the devastating environmental effects of natural gas development in their backyards.

Will frackers going to force Texas OGAP to disclose personal info about those contributing to them, like at DISH, before the hoopla made them back down?

They can't do that. EARTHWORKS/OGAP is lawyer-ed up.

Please get help with the work load. Set up email filters, you can have folders based on specific key words in the email.
Forward emails to fellow bloggers that are in the region where the email originates.
State on your blog to direct inquires to their local blogger and give their contact info.
Get volunteers to prescreen your emails as to requesting general information or is this a Txsharon question.
Don't get burned out we need you in the fight. As everyone learns about fracking the volume will only increase!

I need to figure out the email filter thing but this morning it's much better. There were several council meetings and other things going on last week, some new people waking up in a panic and…

We need to re-emphasize to people who own minerals NOT to sign a lease. It DOES make a huge difference in reducing impacts, traffic, emissions, tank batteries, time the rig is up, and can stop wells from getting drilled. People think they have no power, but drillers hit a brick wall with an unleased track and they have stopped force pooling (It got to expensive), but their alternative does NOT allow them as much access. NOT signing is having an impact. If you are lucky enough to own your minterals, do NOT sign, it makes the Barnett much less attractive.

Sharon: Thank you for your tireless dedication to not only educating us all, but also keeping us abreast of activities. I don't know how you keep up with it all. I hope OGAP sees the value in bringing you on full time as soon as possible.
