Fracking News

Thank Senator Davis for this inventory

July 28, 2010 By TXsharon

I forgot to post this earlier. Phase I of the TCEQ Barnett Shale Area Special Inventory is up and running.

It’s interesting to look at. Why does Tarrant County have so many produced water tanks compared to the most heavily drilled counties Denton and Wise? Are we sure produced water is what those tanks hold?

Produced water tanks
Denton – 2807
Tarrant – 2926
Wise – 2117

It's due to the geology Ellenburger below Barnett in Tarrent, Viola under wise and Denton. Southern wells make more water and little to no oil. Northern wells make less water and more oil. Just FYI the term dry gas means no oil not no water.

You're correct above about dry gas. I've never seen any gas that is bond dry (no produced meaning water)!
