Fracking News

Please exercise caution when reading this from theTexas Railroad Commission

May 14, 2010 By TXsharon

Actually it’s from KSAT but, at any rate, it could cause projectile vomiting. You have been warned.

Subject: TX Railroad Commissioner story

NEW ON THE NIGHTBEAT .. AS CREWS STRUGGLE TO CONTAIN THAT MASSIVE OIL LEAK IN THE GULF OF MEXICO.. STATE OFFICIALS IN CHARGE OF OVERSEEING THE OIL INDUSTRY HERE.. SAY THE ACCIDENT SHOULDN’T BE USED TO HALT OFFSHORE DRILLING.

RAILROAD COMMISSIONER ELIZABETH AMES JONES.. SAID IT’S TOO SOON TO KNOW EXACTLY WHAT CAUSED THE EXPLOSION THAT STARTED THE FLOW OF MILLIONS OF GALLONS OF OIL INTO THE GULF.

AMES JONES SAYS HER AGENCY DOESN’T RUBBER STAMP PERMIT REQUESTS FROM OIL COMPANIES.. SEEKING TO DRILL OFF THE TEXAS COAST. IN FACT.. SHE BELIEVES HER AGENCY IS IN A BETTER POSITION TO REGULATE THE INDUSTRY THAN THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.

Elizabeth Ames Jones/(R) TX Railroad Commissioner
“I believe we are closer to the people, the operators who request permits from us and maybe that is why we are able to uphold the standards we do and are so highly regarded frankly around the world.”

FOLLOWING THE ACCIDENT.. THE STATE BEGAN A REVIEW OF IT’S DRILLING OPERATIONS.
AMES JONES WILL GET AN UPDATE NEXT WEEK ON THE EFFECTIVENESS OF CURRENT STATE RULES AND REGULATIONS.. AND WILL CONSIDER ANY RECOMMENDED CHANGES.

Okay, dear readers, I expect a lot of comments on this one.

All I can say is, bbuuuuuuiiiiiicckk. Over and over again.

(It's a bad high school joke about feeling like a Buick salesmen after having one too many beers.)

Isn't Jones one of the same warmhearted, caring folks who disparaged Tillman and discounted the issues in DISH? I can't recall if it was her or the now unemployed Carrillo who actually thought the 5 small airplanes at DISH were the cause of all the emissions, not the 11 compressor stations.

I'd would love to be much closer to her, myself. Maybe since she's obviously a people pleaser, I should call to arrange a meeting with her and discuss our Tiki Torch, or what she would call an Emission Neutralizer.

Of course she's closer to the operators. They're the ones who fund her campaign chest.

    Duh, Ms. Jones.

    She's not a watchdog, she's a lapdog.

If you put the RRC in charge, you might just as well have NOBODY in charge! The RRC is the ULTIMATE LAPDOG!

Holy crap. I just self deleted my first comment. I'll be back to properly comment on this bull after I've had proper coffee.

If Jones actually believes that, she is obviously delusional and needs medication.
