Another explosion at a natural gas drilling site in Texas

May 6, 2010 By TXsharon

Explosion, gas leak near Boca Chica Beach

Authorities are still working to close a massive gas leak near Boca Chica Beach.

Brownsville Fire Department Chief Lenny Perez told Action 4 News that the incident happened off State Highway 4 towards the beach on Thursday afternoon.

A massive gas leak = massive amounts of methane, which is a GHG that is 25 times more powerful than CO2, escaping into our atmosphere.

Gas rig in Texas, oil in the Gulf…I guess it's another one of those "rare" weeks.
