Range Resources already violating Denton SUP

April 7, 2010 By TXsharon

A reader sent me photos showing that Range Resources who just started working yesterday on the second well right across from a park, hospital and neighborhood, has already violated their special use permit.

All photos were taken “well after 5:00 PM.”

Laws? They have to abide by laws…they should get their anti-lawyers on that, pronto.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE when these violations happen after hours call 911. We have been instructed by Charles Meyers the fire marshal he does not answer his phone after 500pm so we should call 911. Mr. Meyers said no citation had been issued to Range because he had no complaints or violations. CALL 911 the complaint will be registered and recorded and police can respond and make them stop violating the ordinances. When you call 911 besure to tell them Charles Meyers the fire marshal said to call 911 after hours.

Everything is complaint driven. If you don't complain, they "they" can stand up at press conferences and say that all is well as there have been no complaints.

Be careful about 911 calls! Dial 911, cops call operator to inquire what is going on, operator cleans up their act and invites the cops to come out and look, cops go out later on and don't see a thing! Report is written. After a few times, next thing you know, is you are cited for filing false reports, etc. Make sure that the cops are not in cohoots with the operators! Just be careful!

The answer shouldn't be to tell us to call 911. The appropriate person should answer the phone or find someone who can.

Nana Appiah has taken on the job of Gas Well Specialist in the City of Denton Planning Department according to Chuck Russell, the interim planning manager. Perhaps this is the person to call. Mr. Russell's # is 940-349-7705(office, I do not have Nana's number.

Thanks greenfrog Nana Appiah was contacted today and a report regarding gas well inspection was requested. I don't think from the conversation I had with the caller Nana was much help and suggested 911 also for after hour complaints. The employees in Denton posted as responsible for ordinance violations seem to have taken a que from TCEQ and TRR and keep telling us to call the other one it is their responsibitity.

I do not know how we could be sited for filing a false report when city officials are telling us to call 911 and it was also posted in paper to call 911 after hours.
I don't know how police could call operators when it is after hours I think finding an operator after hours would be like trying to find a Denton city official to contact. IMPOSSIBLE
