About that Flower Mound cancer cluster study

March 25, 2010 By TXsharon

You can read about it on the Flower Mound blog. Here’s the most important take away:

This study only collected data up to 2007.
The majority of the child and adult leukemia cases were diagnosed after 2007.

I think this is great news! TxSharon, as a long time reader I find (my opinion) that you like scientific studies when the results favor your stance and dismiss them when they don't. Everything doesn't have to be a conspiracy.

The fact that the significant number of recently diagnosed leukemia cases were not considered in this study is important to note. I did not comment on the validity of the study, only that that significant number of victims wer not included. I understand why they were not included AND it is VITALLY important that people take note.

Right, and O&G believe all of the studies that they fund, the only difference is, they have a huge profit motive, and Sharon makes, ummm, ZERO dollars doing this (actually I'm sure it's negative if you count the opportunity cost of doing something where she could be earning). Don't believe Sharon, don't believe O&G, but be damn sure, the truth is probably somewhere between.

Sharon is correct. The information was not studied for the correct years. Although breast cancer did should up as increased/cluster. The agency claims that there are just more mammograms in these 2 zip codes studied than any place in Texas and that is way it should up increased. They stated we had better axcess to health care.

This whole drilling thing is disgusting, they are drilling everywhere, there are 3 rigs within 1/4 mile of my house in Keller.

The fact is they are pumping horrible stuff in the ground. Its a simple conclusion that its getting into everything.

Its just big business, putting profit before people, nothing new. The pharmaceutical companies do it daily. They put stuff out that they know will harm lots of people, but will make them billions. So they make billions, and settle out of court for millions.
