Flower Mound Air Testing Shows High Carbon Disulfide

March 6, 2010 By TXsharon

Elevated Levels of Carbon Disulfide Found In Flower Mound

Here are the 3 locations and screening results that exceed the TCEQ short term effects screening level for Carbon Disulfide.

  • 18.5 Furst Ranch
  • 69.0 Fire Station #2 Shiloh Rd.
  • 11.2 Morriss Rd Park

Isn’t that fire station where Flower Mound residents just voted? The short-term ESL is 1 hour average. You can see the short-term and long-term health effects listed in Wilma Subra’s presentation HERE.

Read about Megan Collins, former DISH, Texas resident, and her ongoing health issues from exposure to carbon disulfide: A struggle with toxics in the Barnett Shale — the story of Megan Collins.

When I attended the Flower Mound town council meeting, there were two members who supported a moratorium, Tom and Al, if I remember correctly. Another council member needs to step up to the plate and support a moratorium on new drilling permits until these emission problems get solved and operators learn to Drill-Right Texas.

Everyone email the town mayor and council to demand a moratorium and then appropriate ordinaces now. Also demand the source of the carbon disulfide be found (yes that means demanding some folks work on the weekend) and the source shut down until the problem is fixed. I am so tired of this. We need to swanp these morons with email, calls whatever.

Yes, Al Filidoro and Tom Hayden are doing their jobs on our council. We have a chance to elect town council members and a mayor who will represent the best interests of our town instead of the drilling industry this spring.
    MAY 8th. Vote NFL.
    Melissa Northern: Mayor.
    Al Filidoro: Place 2.
    Steve Lyda: Place 4.
