Federal Agency: Venting "inherently unsafe." Aruba Petroleum venting again.

February 28, 2010 By TXsharon

The recent explosion at a natural gas power plant in Middletown, CT killed 6 people and injured about a dozen others is being blamed on venting. A federal agency investigating the blast issued a warning saying that venting was “inherently unsafe.”

Meanwhile, at the Ruggiero’s place, Aruba Petroleum is recklessly endangering this family by venting. AGAIN! And, according to Gil Brujano, P.E., Assistant Director Technical Permitting, Oil and Gas Division, Texas Railroad Commission, venting is not allowed by the Texas Railroad Commission. This he said despite the fact that they have an exception document, which I doubt that Aruba bothered to obtain.

And it’s loud!

“Companies must ensure that flammable gases are not vented into close proximity with ignition sources and workers. That is a vital safety message from all these tragedies,” he said.

This video was taken on Star Shell Road in Wise County Texas at Tim and Christine Ruggiero's place. This is the same site I've been blogging about since last September. There are links in the post to other videos of Aruba venting at the same location and at another location nearby.

Testing by TCEQ, more than once, revealed astonishingly high levels of toxins during and after venting in this area.

However, venting occurs all over the Barnett Shale. They try to be very sneaky about it so a lot of times they vent at night. Range Resources recently vented in Denton County.

Heard venting (probably sour raw natural gas) from facilities near my home off-and-on all NIGHT, last night! It happens often. Believe you me, venting happens.
