New Injection/Disposal Well in Argyle, Texas

December 14, 2009 By TXsharon

Ho boy! Of all the places to put an injection well…

“Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine.”

Some company named WMS Corp. which sure sounds like it could be Williams Petroleum has purchased some land for an injection/disposal well in Argyle. And this isn’t just any old injection/disposal well because

  1. It will receive all the gunk from the huge and growing huger tank farm that Williams will operate in Flower Mound and
  2. They’re putting it right next to a pit bulldog investigative reporter.

They had best be very careful to dot every single “i” and cross every “t”.

You can read more about this planned facility at http://stopthedrilling.blogspot.com.

I have to stock up on popcorn.

This is not good for the people of Argyle.

Like they don't already have enough problems with water and air quality.

Who is the reporter? The gas industry grossly miscalculated invading Flower Mound. Political support for drilling there is fading faster than a west Texas sunset. I can count more wealthly "conservatives" who are fighting this than they have employees. Better get a new set of labels, your enemies are not just the "usual suspects" anymore. When you are that arrogant, you must think you can fight the left AND the right.

I don't want to say the reporter's name at this time.

Voters need to be much smarter no matter which label they fall under.

Yes, i would bet it would be Williams as one of the members of the Agyle Town Council is currently having Williams drill 8 wells on his personal property. Talk about conflict of interest!

Funny how all the decision makers have this same type of conflict no matter if it's city or country.

Yes, Sharon you are soooo right. Do the municipalities have to vote on whether to allow the injections wells? Or, do they put them wherever they want them?

The lease is named Sophia & is located at the end of W Jeter & Frenchtown. Application was approved November 10. Well will go to 12750'. This is very scary for all of us served by Argyle Water Supply. Argyle Water Supply uses water from wells as well as the Upper Trinity Water District.

greenfrog: But they still claim fracing gas shale has never polluted a water well!! What's to fear? 😉

    I guess they'll blame Dimock's well problems on UFO's at this rate…

This will be interesting when the PR spinners are put under Oath in Court.
