October 23, 2009 By TXsharon

Is this for real?

Or is this the new division where they blow smoke and try to pass gas…

……………………………off as an alternative energy?

Cleverrrrr. 😀 Hopefully by alternative, they mean renewables. Hopefully this wasn't a way to keep TRC out of trouble with the EPA and the likes by having an "alternative" division. They already regulate oil, gas, and mining, right? We can only hope this isn't more red tape and clout. Gooooooo renewable alternative energies!!! Hahahaha!

You better hope the RRC does not get in the business of regulating our much needed alternative energy sources. Woah–snake in the grass!!!
What we need is an independent agency to regulate the RRC!

    Sharon,

The "new" division is only dealing with natural gas – it is just a gathering of functions already existing throughout several sections at the RRC. Nothing truly new or alternative there.

I just hope the "streamlining" they refer to is not typical Republican codespeak for "we're going to fire people." The work done by all these great workers at the commission is important, it is just a shame that they don't have (nor have they pushed for) legislative authority to waych over and help grow true alternative energy forms.

That's exactly what I thought it was. I've told them before that natural gas is a fossil fuel not and alternative fuel.

Something needs to be done about wind turbines. In deep south Texas large farms with out of state owners are ruining our property values, killing birds. Local government say no rules to stop them from building 400' turbine next to your 10ac.home site.
