Pictures: Red Mt. Pass in Freezing Rain

July 22, 2009 By TXsharon

I had to wear my jacket today when I drove from Durango to Montrose.

On the way to Silverton:

Freezing rain fell while we drove the Red Mountain Pass.

We saw 5 elk on the top of this peak.

In Ouray, it hailed bucket loads. Like Silverton, the entire town of Ouray is an historical district.
