Texas Environmental Regulators Seduced by Regulated

January 18, 2009 By TXsharon

An article in today’s Statesmen provides a clue as to why Texas suffers from so much pollution.

Revolving door at Texas environmental agency?
Some worry that many top officials leave to go to work with companies they once regulated.

In a Nut Shell, here’s how it works.

1. Taxpayer Handouts
2. Record Profits
3. Influence
4. Campaign Contributions
5. Super Bowl Tickets/gifts
6. Job promises
7. Industry favorable legislation
8. Protection from regulation
9. Lobbyists and more lobbyists

Increased Pollution

Endangered Public

This is why we need environmental agencies like OGAP. Give generously!

This is why we need whistle blowers and activists like Don Young and “Far-left Radicals” like me.

I have renamed the TCEQ to be the WCEQ–Worthless Commission on Environmental Quality. Especially the top levels of the Waco office is a perfect example of pollution friendly!
