No wonder Big Oil has their way with Texans

January 10, 2009 By TXsharon

Tonight I drove to Fort Worth to attend the second annual Buzzworms in the Backyard art show that focuses on the negative aspects of urban drilling. I had a great time with the artsy fartsy and like minded folks there. Then I ran into the lady from the Meadowbrook blog.

Did you know that Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Gator Bader Ginsbeurg, is a “far left liberal?” edit She is right. I misspelled it and discovered that when I researched the issue, but I forgot to correct the spelling.

I laughed and laughed then it didn’t seem too funny.

On the way to the parking lot, I ran into the reporter from the Wall Street Journal who had interviewed me earlier so I repeated to him what she said. He was equally amused.

It’s no wonder people in Texas get bent over by Big Oil. They’re just plain STUPID!

Oh, and Roberts is a “left winger.” Who knew?

I’m surprized you left this blog entry up online, TXSharon, since it reveals a glaring lack of education and butchering of the facts.

Either your memory is failing or you intentionally distort reality:

    1) It’s Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Now tell me again, who is the dummy? And yes, she is a far left liberal Supreme Court Justice. Do your research.

    2) To correct your obviously failing memory .. ’twas I who laughed. And then YOU said you wouldn’t talk to anyone who laughed at you so you huffed away to go out and blog bad things about me. Yikes! A bit sensitive are we?

    3) No telling what you told the poor WSJ reporter.

    4) Never said Roberts was a “left winger”. Said he was a “strict constructionist”. Big difference. Again, do your research.

And then go get a sugar rubdown because you are a bit rough around the edges.

I’ll know better than to try and engage you in conversation again.

Really don’t expect this to get posted since “All comments must be approved by the blog author”.

Again, your reputation would be better served by removing this hilariously inaccurate post.

Yes, you are right that I mis spelled her name. I realized that when I later researched the case but I forgot to correct it.

You absolutelu DID say that Roberts is a left-winger. Maybe you didn’t mean that but that IS what you said because I questioned you.

I did research the case thoroughly! It is a hotly disputed case and I don’t agree with the decision but to hold this one case up as your shield is folly.

You can continue to stand firm in your beliefs, continue to vote the way you have and see how far that gets you with Big Oil.

    MeadowbrookToday.com admin here …

I ABSOLUTELY did NOT say Roberts is a left-winger. I know the Supreme Court Justices better than that … maybe the music was too loud and you misunderstood me. Besides, why in the world would I say something that stupid? Again, he is a "strict constructionist". I won't belabor this point with you for a third time. It's apparently falling on deaf ears.

You wrote "To hold this one case up as your shield is folly"???

    Excuse me???

The only point I was trying to make (which apparently didn't get through to you) is that the Republican appointed Justices were on the RIGHT SIDE OF THIS KELO VS NEW LONDON CASE. You and many others claim that Republicans=BAD, Democrats=GOOD.

Just trying to shed a little truth on the subject. Sorry if your blind faith in the Democratic party keeps you from seeing the hard truth. When it comes to eminent domain abuse, don't trust the Dems to save you. That's all I'm saying …. hope this simple truth doesn't blow a gasket in your brain.

    REPEAT:

Justices who voted in favor of New London:
    Ruth Bader Ginsburg – Clinton
    Stephen Breyer – Clinton
    David Souter – George H. W. Bush (usually sides w/Ginsburg & Breyer)
Justice John Paul Stevens – Ford
    Justices Anthony Kennedy – Reagan

    Justices who voted for Kelo:
    Sandra Day O'Connor – Reagan
    William Rehnquist – Reagan
    Antonin Scalia – Reagan
    Clarence Thomas – George H. W. Bush

You said he was a left-winger. I am perfectly willing to accept that you MEANT he was an obstructionist but that is NOT what you said.

I never, ever said all Democrats are good. I am extremely critical of bad Democrats.

If you think Democrats are the only ones that get it wrong on eminent domain I LOL @ U! Please see the TTC.

Please check the recent legislation filed and tell me which party will do the best job of protecting citizens against Big Oil’s abuses. I wish I had a Lon or Wendy! All I have to represent me are sorry, rotten, Big Business Embedded Republicans!

HELLO, Brooke!!!!!! Eminent Domain is not the only issue we face with Big Oil.

Brooke, why don’t you just leave it alone and forget about it. Nobody cares.

I hope the statement of facts that I wrote helps your case. I wish you all the success.
