ONe thing to consider if you own a few acres and don’t want your place condemned for pipelines — “conservation easements”. contact the nature conservancy or your local NRCS office. These easement require at least one acre. They are permanent and you can’t change your mind. They can be condemned by the government but NOT by private industry. So you can carve out a strip here and there and pipeline companies will have to go around. However, it is a permanent commitment. Also, the area is tax exempt and all construction is limited to the existing footprint. Think it through.
