Noriega vs Cornyn, Let’s Get Real

August 6, 2008 By TXsharon

I don’t know if this is media bias or just laziness, but this journalist didn’t do a thorough job of reporting on this race so I’ll help him out.

  1. Kelley Shannon glossed over Cornyn’s Big Bad John blunder – a mistake that became a NATIONAL story
  2. Rick Noriega has been consistently gaining in the polls (Texas Lyceum, Rasmussen), despite Cornyn’s cash advantage. Cornyn is consistently under 50% – a dangerous place for an incumbent to be.
  3. While Rick did a Ustream on Tuesday with Texans, where was Cornyn? Oh yes! He was tasting wine in Washington. (“On Tuesday,
lobbyists feted Sen. John Cornyn (Texas) with a wine tasting to benefit his re-election” – Roll Call) and about 400 people joined Rick’s Ustream! (While John Cornyn hung out with his Washington special interest cronies)
  4. Oh and don’t forget about Cornyn’s mishaps
  • Hurricane Dolly emails and his spokesman’s heated interaction with the Chronicle
  • Cornyn’s Iran mishap and
  • The most egregious omission, David Beckwith – who we still don’t know whether he broke the law!

Cornyn is scared – that’s why he keeps attacking Rick Noriega. He never seems to be in Texas. Does he even have a public schedule for his appearances?

Key to Cornyn’s so-called success = HIDE!

Don’t forget Cornyn suggesting that violence against judges might be attributable to the public being angry about the judiciary making “political” (i.e. activist) decisions.

    1. Big Bad John significantly up’d Cornyn’s name ID.

    2. Cornyn hit 50%, its even in your own link. That and he hasn’t even used his 10 million to advertise yet.

3.Rick’s Ustream turned to static and was blank for 80% of it— how sad.

    4. I don’t even know these situations, so you’ll have to elaborate.

Cornyn has repeatedly rubber-stamped this disastrous presidency enabling the dire situations we are currently experiencing. Repeatedly, he hes voted against ordinary Texas families. All indications point to a very angry electorate which includes many young people who are not included in polling.

Rick was TRYING to have a conversation with ordinary Texans, like me, with his upstream while Cornyn was with the insider, cheese and cracker crowd at a wine tasting.

Links are provided so you can do your own research but it’s no surprise to me that you don’t.
