Sink Hole Residents Encouraged to Sue Texas Railroad Commission

July 2, 2008 By TXsharon

Now THIS is what I’m talking about!

DAISETTA — An environmental attorney told residents and elected officials here they should consider legal action against the Texas Railroad Commission, saying the agency failed to take action that could have protected them from the giant sinkhole that formed in this Liberty County community.

“I am critical of the Railroad Commission,” said Jim Blackburn of Houston, who helped the community defeat a proposed hazardous waste dump near there in the past. “The commission has its fingerprints all over what is going on in Daisetta and has not stepped forward to take responsibility.”

And this is what I’ve been talking and talking and talking about:

“He accused the agency of failing

to properly regulate the

oil and gas industry.”

AMEN!

This is exactly what needs to be done. Some in Panola County already have sued the RRC–they have their hands full–they need legal help bad!! This agency along with the TCEQ is running rampant over the citizens of Texas!! Both need to “go straight to jail without passing go”!
