Devon Energy Gas Well Blows Up

November 21, 2007 By TXsharon

A Devon Energy Gas Well in Alvarado blew up and injured 3 men. One hard hat was found 60 feet away!

The blast blew the hard hats off of the workers.

“The farthest hard hat was 60 feet away,” Alford said. “You could see where it was hit. There was a dent.”

One man was taken by helicopter ambulance and the other two were moved by ground ambulance.

UPDATE: The Star-Telegram has updated their story and it looks like the men will be alright and will have turkey with their families tomorrow.
