Texas Sharon's Bluedaze

Fracking News

"Little pig, little pig. Let me come in."

November 2, 2007 By TXsharon

I’ve seen a great deal of hype and hoopla over a new website recently.

The Barnett Shale Energy Education Council (BSEEC) is a community resource that provides information to the public about gas drilling and production in the Barnett Shale region in North Texas.

One realtor promotes the new website saying:

Mineral rights web site for North Texas

I learned of a new web site today that was launched to answer homeowners questions about the Barnett Shale and the ins and outs of gas drilling and leases.

It is the Barnett Shale Energy Education Council.

If this affects your area of North Texas, take a look at the site.

Why would anyone go to the operators for advice on how to lease their mineral rights to the operators?

BEWARE OF “INFORMATION” ON THIS WEBSITE!

Founding Members of the BSEEC:
Chesapeake Energy
Chief Oil & Gas
Dale Resources
Devon Energy
EnCana Energy
EOG Resources
Four Sevens Energy
XTO Energy
Quicksilver Energy

Darn, Sharon! You beat me to this one.

I would use a slightly different children’s fable for the title, though. You know, the one about the wolf watching the hen house.

I hope all the little children out there learn their lessons better than many of their parents have.

Additional information: This organization, founded at the request of Mayor Mike Moncrief, was allowed to control much of the recent FW League of Neighborhood Associations public meeting. Moncrief received $620,000 +/- in royalties.
