Don’t Drink the Water

October 4, 2007 By TXsharon

If you live in the Barnett Shale area go listen to Don’t Drink the Water.

Today I got the following message:

Fruit of the Orchard on American Public Media’s “The Story”

Greetings! Folks,

Today at 2pm, CST, The Story will broadcast an interview of some of my subjects from Fruit of the Orhcard and the new project Environmental Justice in the USA. We will all hear if I end up on the cutting room floor – but their important stories are being told ! Dick Gordon inteviewed my newest subject Reverend David Hudson of DeBerry, TX and folks from Fruit of the Orchard such as Phyllis Glazer and Wanda Erwin. Listen if you get a chance.

Sincerely,

Tammy Cromer-Campbell

I wrote about Winona and DeBarry yesterday. Both towns were victims of oil field salt water injection wells. Wise County currently has 27 commercial injection wells and has recently been permitted for 3 more.

Here’s the trailer for Fruit of the Orchard:

This is happening in our backyard!

Holy crap, and I thought central FloorReeDUH water was bad.
If all else fails, do like the Less what’shisface in Survivorman:
Get a thing to put the crappy water in, put a smaller containment device (a cup or something!) in the center, then cover it with something (plastic words great), put a rock on top of where the smaller containment thingy is, let it sit in the sun for a few hours, then there ya go, ya got *somewhat* fresh water! I would strongly advise boiling what ya have “filtered” just to get sure.
This is really mess the hell up, and sadly what it’s going to come down to in more places and more and more…
