I got 34.4 mpg on the first tank of gas in my new ride. The last time I purchased a new vehicle it was my 3/4 ton Chevy crew cab pick up. I was told to take care breaking in the new engine and that my mpg would improve. Reading the manual on my new ride, it gives a few tips about breaking in the engine but I’ve not yet seen anything that says the mileage will improve. Some Honda Fit owners claim to get 40 mpg highway.
