One year ago today, I blogged about Breitling Energy CEO, Chris Faulkner. This is a good time for blogging because there’s not much going on to distract me. I asked: Chris Faulkner of Breitling Energy: Who are you?  You should read the blog post and the comments. I will try to update it as news becomes available.

In April the Texas Observer published a devastating profile of Faulkner, The Lite Gov and the Frack Master. READ IT. Frack Master didn’t sue the Texas Observer.

In April Faulkner filed a law suit against me and I was served in May. He probably thought it would be easy to sue someone like me. He couldn’t have known that I have insurance for that kind of thing. My attorneys are some of the best. If you ever get sued for defamation, hire them.

The case was filed in Dallas County. Click on Civil District Case Information and put in DC-15-04690. This is Defendant’s Chapter 27 Motion to Dismiss (Part 1 of 2).pdf 320 pages and Part 2, Defendant’s Chapter 27 Motion to Dismiss (Part 2 of 2).pdf is 376 pages. It sounds like a a lot of reading but it’s way more interesting and entertaining than you might think. My attorneys did an excellent job.

The judge ruled in my favor. Of course. I didn’t make anything up, it’s all verifiable with original sources. Here’s what the judge said:

…this action was brought by Plaintiff Christopher Faulkner to deter or prevent Defendant from exercising her constitutional rights and was brought for an improper purpose, including to harass Defendant and cause her unnecessarily to incur the cost of litigation.

The court awarded me $10,000 in sanctions (which is not nearly enough) and my attorney fees. It’s not likely that I will ever see the $10k or that my attorney will get his fees which were paid by my insurance company. I’m not holding my breath because there is a long line of people trying to collect debts from the Frack Master including his attorney who quit because he wasn’t getting paid.

I had to wait until this week to say anything because it’s just now finally over.

We haven’t been hearing much from Frack Master these days probably because his publicist claims Frack Master never paid her so she also has a lawsuit against him.

I read this lawsuit when it was first filed. The Stephenson Group did an amazing job of getting Frack Master in the news, placing op-eds and getting him speaking engagements. They also made a cartoon video of him as Frack Master. When the lawsuit was first filed, it had a link to a YouTube video. I regret that I did not download it because the video is no longer at the link. I will try to describe it but no matter how embarrassing it sounds, I won’t be able to do justice to the embarrassment factor.

The video is quite well-done. There is a animated rock band with band members that looked like the cast from Scoobie-Doo only more buff. The band is  playing the Frack Master song. Yeah, there is a Frack Master song. The Frack Master is modeled after a singing, guitar playing version of Tony Stark. A pedestal with the Tony Stark version of Frack Master raises up from the stage with lightning bolts and piece-by-piece the Frack Master suit is bolted on just like in Iron Man. Then, Dear Readers, Frack Master blasts flames out the rear of his suit and he starts to fly. All the while the more buff Scoobie-Doo band is playing the Frack Master song.  I think there is a drilling rig in the mix somewhere.

I shit you not. This I saw with my own eyes.

Another guy who claims he didn’t get paid sent me an email with his sad tell of woe. He claims someone at Breitling paid hired him to bury or “push down” the Texas Observer article, The Lite Gov and the Frack Master, in search results.

I couldn’t muster up much sympathy for the guy. He claimed this was the second time he “pushed down” bad news for Faulkner. Lie down with dogs…Dude.

I received quite a few interesting emails. My attorney instructed me not to respond to any of them.

As I mentioned in the original post, I don’t know much about stocks and trading but I do know that the Security Exchange Commission is cranky about paperwork. It seems none of the filings filed by Breitling are correct nor can they be relied upon.
