Argyle calls special meeting to keep new mayor out of files?

June 2, 2011 By TXsharon

Something crazy is going on in Argyle. Yesterday a notice of a special meeting was posted. The purpose of the meeting seems to be to limit the powers of the new mayor and limit his access to records.

  1. Discuss, consider, and act on adoption or amendment of Town Ordinances regarding the role(s) and responsibility(ies)of the Town Manager and the Mayor.
  2. Discuss, consider, and act on the provision of records and/or access to Town staff by the Mayor and Town Council.

Why would they want to do that? Is this even legal?

Maybe THIS is why.
