League’s recommendations for drilling near FWISD schools to be presented February 17

In November 2010, the Fort Worth Independent School District agreed to an offer from the Fort Worth League of Neighborhoods to assemble a team of experts to study and make recommendations about gas drilling technology and gas pipelines near ISD school properties. The League will present highlights from the report on and also have comments on the City of Fort Worth’s just released interim report on its Air Quality Study:

Fort Worth Firefighters Hall
3855 Tulsa Way

(Tulsa Way is one block south of the Camp Bowie and Montgomery intersection. The Firefighters Hall is on Tulsa Way about 2 blocks west of Montgomery Street.)

The meeting is open to the public. Parents of students at affected FWISD schools are especially invited to attend.

    I suggest 3,000 feet setback based on the Canadian study that showed benzene still at a steady level at 2,400 feet from the source.
