Laura Paskus: COP 16 Coverage

December 4, 2010 By TXsharon

I have mentioned my friend, Laura Paskus, several times on this blog–I’m proud of her. She is still in Cancun covering the COP 16.

On December 1st she visited Xyatil.

Yesterday, I traveled with other Earth Journalism Network fellows to Xyatil, an ejido (community farm) about three hours from Cancun. I won’t have time to to add explanations to the pictures for a few days…

You must go look at the pictures! The children in the village are beautiful and they all lined up to greet the journalists with handmade signs. I can read enough Spanish to know what the signs said. They made me cry.
