Williams get creative with toxic driling waste pit liners

Williams O&G wants to deliver used drilling waste pit liners to cement kilns to burn for fuel. Other companies have stopped using drilling waste pits but Williams still uses them in some areas.

Williams’ operators clean used liners on site, then package them and deliver them to recyclers, who use them to make plastic products and fuel for cement kilns.

As I’ve said many times, natural gas development creates massive amounts of toxic and radioactive waste and industry has no plan for safe disposal of this waste. Watch for them to become ever more creative in their attempts to get rid of their messes.
