Investigations find Cleburne and Panhandle pipelines that recently exploded were not marked.

Official says pipeline that caused Cleburne explosion wasn’t marked

The Barnett Shale pipeline owned by Enterprise Product Partners LP that exploded in Cleburne, Texas killing James Robert Neese, 45, of Ramona, Okla. was not marked. In the rush to “Drill, Baby, Drill,” industry is constructing dangerous infrastructure in a slaphappy manner.

The Panhandle pipeline that exploded killing 2 was not marked either.

Hersman also blamed a failure to identify gas lines for a June 8 explosion in the Texas Panhandle that killed two workers. Federal and state rules require pipeline companies to locate and mark utility lines when excavation work occurs.
