NPR Reports on Drilling Issues. Dunkard Creek and DISH, TX

November 3, 2009 By TXsharon

Dunkard Creek fish kill: Perfect Storm for Fish Kill

The algae flourished because the water was salty.

Officials don’t know how the invasive algae got into Dunkard Creek, but believe it flourished because of massive amounts of salty pollution from coalmines and gas drilling

NPR’s story on Gas Compressors in the Barnett Shale will air on Morning Edition on 11/3

If you miss it, you can go to www.npr.org after the show has aired, type in “John Burnett” into the search engine, and it should be one of the first stories that pops up.
