A Look at the Future in the Barnett Shale

March 10, 2009 By TXsharon

All those gas wells will get old and cruddy like these did.

DECAYING TANKS

And then look what happens:

Justin Windham said the city has “abated” several properties.

Notice that it doesn’t say the producer did the abatement. It says “the city.” And who is “the city?” It’s you, my friend, the taxpayer.

Windham told the group he is working with the Texas Railroad Commission to remove two “huge” oil tanks from 405 Florey St. He said there appears to be no one responsible as even the tax rolls list the owner as “unknown.”

Isn’t the Barnett Shale great for our cities and our economy?
