I’ve fallen in love with the word enough.
Barack Obama said, “Enough!” and the entire world sighed a collective, “Amen” of hope.
I am blogging this from my smart phone—typing on the tiny keyboard using my thumbs—which takes an heroic effort with a dash of recklessness due to the lack of spell check. For most of this year, I’ve not had a reliable internet connection often enough for anything but bare-bones, essential blog posts. I’m focusing on enough in the coming New Year.
Abundance, a long-time favorite word, no longer feels right considering all the challenges our world is facing. I’m thinking more about enough these days, and we can all have enough because there is abundance. Individually, and as a country, we really don’t need abundance—we only need enough. There are way too many people who don’t have even enough to sustain life.
I am hoping this New Year I will find enough time with a reliable internet connection. I am two installments behind in posting links to “Behind the Shale.” I’ll get those up as soon as possible because I have enough emails in my inbox to indicate interest. Until I get those links posted, remember, “The Google” is your friend.
May “Behind the Shale” touch enough people who will have enough energy to work for real, meaningful change before it’s too late to save the natural resources without which we cannot survive.
I have an email sitting in my inbox from Rancho Los Malulos about their new video that I can’t watch or post here because a) I’m not smart enough for my smart phone; or b) my smart phone is not that smart. The email informs me that Exxon is suing Rancho Los Malulos! Whaaaa????? Exxon made $15 BILLION DOLLARS IN PROFIT DURING THE FIRST 3 QUARTERS OF 2008! Is that not enough? Now Exxon, the company that just made the most profit of any corporation in history, is suing these people who are suffering at the hands of Big Oil. Exxon’s greed takes the term screwed to a whole new level!
That’s the way it is with Big Oil. They believe they are entitled to profit without regard to impacts on humans and our environment. We are not important enough to impede the quest for profit, they can never get enough and no atrocity is too much in their quest for profits. Their destruction and abuse has reached a frenzied pace because they know the peasants have had enough.
ENOUGH! Exxon and Big Oil need a lesson in enough! There is neither a hell big enough nor Karma severe enough for Exxon and Big Oil!
I wish for a enough money to purchase a Geiger Counter to help me gather enough evidence to wake up enough people soon enough.
I wish for a camera good enough to take pictures to share. A video camera would be really handy.
I wish for a reliable internet connection often enough to increase the effectiveness of my blog.
I wish for enough time and I hope it comes in time enough.
