Fort Worth Children Sold Down the River for $40/mo.

December 1, 2007 By TXsharon

Fort Worth is the first city to allow large scale drilling in neighborhoods. The Barnett Shale operators are propagandizing residents into believing that they will profit from leasing their mineral rights to operators. Just what can a Fort Worth resident expect to gain from urban drilling besides pollution of all kinds?

Answer: $14,045

Wow! That sounds like a lot of money! Only it’s not, really–especially considering the enormous cost in quality of living.

Fine print: That’s $14,045 over a 30 year period.

Which is:

$468 per year

Which is:

$39.01 per month
