Eagle Ford Shale blowout in Wilson County

May 9, 2013 By TXsharon

I can’t keep up with all the bad news from the Eagle Ford Shale.

Gas well issues prompt evacuation near Kosciusko

The internal pressure of a Hunt Oil Co well outside of Kosciusko is past critical levels.

As of 7:15 p.m., the evacuation order covers a two-mile radius from C.R. 235 to C. R. 453 and C.R. 252.

“If the gas would come to the surface, the evacuation could reach to the Karnes County line, but as of right now we just don’t know,” Pfeil said. “Hunt is currently working to plug the well and is waiting for some equipment to come in from out of town.”

If you live in the gas patch keep a bag packed and ready to go anytime.

    So;
    If the gas “comes to the surface”, there could be a release of “massive amounts of deadly poisonous gas”. I’m a believer.
    This is obviously a deadly serious event, and it appears the responders on the ground there comprehend the gravity and scope that situation.
    Wouldn’t it be special if the public and public health agencies were kept in the loop a little bit also? Wouldn’t it be special if we knew just which poisons make up that particular brew? Truly?

    WELCOME TO TEXAS! A place where O&G, insurance companies, and corporate interests RULE–without regulation!
    DO NOT invest money for a quiet, residential living homestead in Tx. Also, the homestead taxes are enermous and they go up 10% per year!

    Re: anonymous.
    Don’t be ridiculous. Lived in TX my entire life & only saw a rig when I drove through the Eagle ford shale area. They aren’t everywhere like you are implying. Yes, property tax is about 3-4% higher than national average but we don’t have any state tax.

      You really should expand your horizons a bit.
