I’ve been watching the Flower Mound meeting live. The side for the variances is now speaking and I’ve heard a lot of the following:
communistic, benzene is gud, property rights, Constitutional rights, Mosque, foreign oil, energy dependence, get out of town if you don’t like it and a bunch of patriotic rhetoric and chest thumping.
…but I’ve not heard one single, solitary fact or any technical information at all. Not one.
Interesting Mr. Jones, a landman for Cherokee Horn, just spoke and he accused “the blogs” of never having any facts while he had not one single fact in his entire 3 minutes. He also said accused the Flower Mound blog of having porn. Over the top much?
Update: I have on text message that says they denied 3 variances and an email that says they denied all 4.

Industry has alsways had money, power and the law on their side. Until now. There's a growing army of people that have simply have had enough. When a woman chains herself to a tree because no one else will help her, that says a lot. It also says something about those warm hearted people at XTO as well. The industry's lies and deception and tactics are becoming more apparent not only to people, but to our elected officials. When the one Spiller Driller went so far as to suggest there was porn on the blog…talk about just making things up.
All four variances were denied. They will most likely re-submit but for right now victory is sweet.
