Denton County Public Meeting to Discuss Huge Gas Facility

January 23, 2010 By TXsharon

This public meeting was announced at the Flower Mound meeting last Thursday. What the below does not mention is that Williams and their subsidiary, Bosque, will also be there.

There is a public outcry for this meeting to be more balanced and include experts without ties to industry. This is developing so keep watching for further instructions.

Has anyone thought about getting a grant-like from the TIDES Foundation – and getting an environmental expert with legal experience to help organize citizens? I know someone in Denver who does this. Labor unions will do this kind of thing and win in court. Just wondering…

Texas OGAP is working on getting funding for an office in Texas but some effort needs to come from the citizens.

OGAP/EARTHWORKS has many experts and a legal team. Wilma Subra has traveled to Texas several times to provide information and to analyze the findings in DISH.

You can contribute to Texas OGAP HERE

Right now they have an organizer working 25% time because that all the budget will allow.

I live in NW Denton County and Devon Energy is planning on drilling in our Neighborhood and they sent out an independent Landman to sign us up. Several people have been told different stories about the actual location and we're concerned about how it would affect our quality of life. I have started a Denton County list for those out here in NW Estates and an also researching info on Devon Energy and am planning a meeting in the near future to hopefully get some questions answered. From what I have read, the health hazards are tremendous, as well as the water contamination issue. Good luck and let's get networked and help each other!
