Land Commissioners Orders Texas Railroad Commission to Do Its Job

July 17, 2009 By TXsharon

This is priceless! From Rancho los Malulos:

Quick, buy some XOM stock.

Well, well, well. The political climate seems to be turning against XOMan. Regulators are coming over to my side! Texas Land Commissioner, Jerry Patterson, is putting the hammer down on our beloved XOMan. Read the soon-to-be released press release! I think he should put the ending paragraph as the first paragraph in the final draft. Will the rest of the world soon know the real XOM? The XOM that lies, cheats, steals, and buries PCB’s? The XOM that lies on his Grandfather permits? The XOM that wastes gas, rips off royalty owners, tax payers, and did I mention lies about EVERYHING? Basically, the arrogant XOM that thinks no one has the nerve to do a thing to him.

She has a link posted to Jerry Patterson’s press release.

Now it’s been picked up by Bloomberg:

Exxon Sabotaged Wells, Should Be Fined, Texas Land Office Says

Jerry Patterson, commissioner of the land office that oversees oil leases that help fund Texas schools, asked the Texas Railroad Commission to conduct hearings into an alleged 1990s program at Exxon Mobil of plugging abandoned wells with trash, sludge, explosives and cement plugs. The barriers made it impossible for other producers to revive the wells, Patterson said in a statement he gave to Bloomberg News yesterday.

You can see dozens of videos showing XOM abuses at Rancho los Malulos.

Bradford County, PA, could you be inviting similar problems to your local gas wells? Rural areas are often taken advantage of in regard to waste/hazardous materials disposal.

    This is wonderful,just think how
nice it would be if we could get
TCEQ to do their job too.

XOM is not alone. Come to Booger county, TX. There's CP and ETC, XTO, Encana and others. They all learn from the big dog!
And OBTW, TCEQ do their job? What A JOKE–it's worthless! Also the RRC is a joke.

    Sharon,

Remember when I said to you that the inertia of the RRC, their complete inability or desire to do anything, was what spurred me to run for the office? Man, it came to roost very soon.
I only hope and pray for the opportunity to get in there an make some changes. The RRC has known about this situation for 15 years and has done nothing. The jury found false reporting 9 years ago. Still nothing. Only when Patterson speaks. Sheesh.
My web site will be up in a couple of weeks.
    Jeff
